MDA (LDA)

An MDA is a Mail Delivery Agent.
An :ref:`LDA <lda>` is a Local Delivery Agent.

These two terms are synonyms.

An MDA is being passed messages from an
:ref:`MTA <mta>` and delivers it to a real or
virtual mailbox.

Common choices include:
